That’s not to say they are impossible to find, but only a handful of monitors with high refresh rates with this resolution. This is a pretty obscure resolution and uncommon for gaming. That’s a difference of 50.4% or 3,340,800 pixels! Also, 4K has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and not 21:9. The 3440 x 1440 resolution is 29.3% wider than its 2560 x 1440 counterpart. It’s much wider than the common 16:9 ratio that most monitors nowadays have. This resolution and the 2560 x 1080 resolution are the two most common with a 21:9 ratio. The 3440 x 1440 resolution has an ultrawide aspect ratio of 21:9. Replaced the Gigabyte AORUS FI27Q-X with the Acer Nitro XV272U because it's easier to find moved the Gigabyte G34WQC to Notable Mentions because of low availability added the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, Gigabyte M32Q, and LG 34GP950G-B to Notable Mentions.16:9 monitors not wide enough? If you're looking for something with more dedicated gaming features, the Gigabyte M34WQ is also a great choice, but it's significantly more expensive. It has a few nice convenience features for gamers, including a built-in USB hub for quick connections and a headphone jack along the bottom bezel. It's one of the better monitors for HDR, with good peak brightness and a wide color gamut, but it lacks a local dimming feature to help highlights pop the way they should. It looks great in a dark room, with a high contrast ratio and excellent black uniformity. It has a fast refresh rate and supports both FreeSync and G-SYNC Compatible variable refresh rates. It's not as good as the other monitor, but it still delivers a great gaming experience, with a good response time at the max refresh rate and excellent low input lag. It's a great ultrawide monitor with a very similar design and form factor to the Dell Alienware AW3423DW, but at a much lower price point.
